Reminiscent of Winnie the Pooh and Where the Wild Things Are, Dragonboy begins a new series about a curious, imaginative, playful little boy and his band of lovable stuffed animal friends.
Fabio Napoleoni's 2nd Children's Book is also available. The 2nd book in the Dragonboy series is a nighttime adventure full of wonder and surprises. Dragonboy and his stuffed animal friends love exploring, and what better place to explore than their own backyard…at night. Everything looks different, everything feels different, and everything is just a little more special. The friends may feel frightened by the things they can't see, like whatever is making noises in the bushes and whoever seems to be following along behind them. But as long as they're together, they know they can do anything. They might even discover something wonderful. Join Dragonboy, Yellow Kitty, Darwin, Drako, and Simon in their next charming adventure about everything our wonderful world has to offer.

About the artist: Richard James Oliver
Born in Pontypridd, Wales in 1975. Currently Paints and resides in Los Angeles CA. Solo exhibitions include the Known Gallery, Hollywood, Los Angeles. Museum of Modern Art, Wales. Attic Gallery, Swansea and Rhondda Heritage park permanent Mural. Mixed Exhibitions Worldwide including London, New York and most recently Los Angeles. Paintings currently hang in Museums and public display throughout the UK and private clients are worldwide.
Richard J Oliver was born and raised in Wales, United Kingdom, studied Fine Art at the University of the West of England and undertook his Masters at UWIC in Wales. In his time between studies, Oliver built his reputation, beginning in Wales and later gaining recognition throughout the UK. His work has been included in numerous European group shows, which then segued into solo shows, including an exhibition at the prestigious Museum of Modern Art in Wales.
Oliver's early work focused on his homeland, particularly the struggle of its youth trying to find identity in the aftermath of the local mining industry's demise. His work often showcased the skeleton landscapes of mining villages in the Welsh valleys juxtaposed with contemporary youth.
His latest works explore more universal subjects, from environmental issues to humanitarian and social problems that are close to his heart.
Since becoming a parent, Oliver has explored the anxieties of raising a child in an environment on the brink of disaster. The images touch on the tragedy of children forced to survive in an apocalyptic environment and violently fend for themselves. He transforms the natural instincts of fatherhood and family protection into striking visuals. More recently, portraits have crossed into the dark, brooding world of Grimm's fairytales and surrealistic subjects that help convey the emotion and tragedy of our world's children. Oliver works closely with many charities, most recently donating proceeds to Dreamlovecure.org and City of Hope's Department of Pediatrics.

The third Hardcover Art Book features work from Gabe's third series entitled "LUCK.” This series of paintings delves into the ideas of what LUCK is through the unwritten stories of five main characters. Use the clues to put the story together and see how everyone is connected!
Desperados - Book
4th book in Gabe Leonard Art Books collection
In 2014 Gabe went back to the Outlaw themes with "Desperados" - a journey we all take on our own, searching through the chaos of life and coming out on the other side with both feet on the ground, and on the right side of the dirt.
NOIR - Book
5th book in Gabe Leonard Art Books collection
Inspired by a favorite Johny Cash song, "God's Gonna Cut You Down,” Gabe depicts the characters from the lyrics in the visual world of "NOIR.”
"Go tell that long tongue liar,
Go and tell that midnight rider,
Tell the rambler
The gambler
The back biter,
Tell 'em that God's gonna cut 'em down,
Tell 'em that God's gonna cut 'em down..."
Gabe with his Original Oil Painting, "Let It Roll Out", Featured on the NOIR Book Cover
About Gabe Leonard:
In Gabe's own words, "I grew up in Linch, a small oil field town in the middle of nowhere, in the center of Wyoming. Linch was home to about 15 families who mostly lived in trailer homes. No grocery store, no stop signs, no police, no firemen, no church, no high school. The roads weren't paved, the streets weren't named, and I wasn't allowed to go past the cattle guard."
"It was my ability to draw that broke the social ice for me. Specifically, my ability to draw big foot trucks going through the mud. That caught the attention of some of the other kids who then started asking me to draw trucks for them. That's how I started to fit in and make friends."
Gabe describes his 'Venice Beach' days, "May 29th, 1999 was the first time I almost got into a fist fight over space. Jewelry makers and psychics will get in your face, they were very territorial, and they will gang up on you. There was a homeless guy that would get there early to make a sand mermaid and yell obscenities at everyone all day long. There was a guy balancing a stove on his chin. I was setting up across from a parking lot where I could sleep in my car overnight staking out my place."
"I find ideas and inspiration everywhere. Music, movies, friends, family, places I’ve been, philosophers, scientists, artists, film makers. I draw upon all these things, using friends as models, dressed up in costume and props for references. There’s a certain challenge in painting people who don’t look like they’re posing for a painting. Capturing body language and emotion in a figure is fun and is another requirement in the process of learning to see. Combined with the fractal nature of runs and drips, I exaggerate and distort space and forms in my paintings."
"I’m learning how to see the world around me. I prefer to express my findings with oil painting on canvas. Although most of my work is figurative, I approach all my work as though they’re landscapes. Understanding how light, space, forms and patterns are perceived apply equally to painting a person as the landscape they’re in. There’s no end in learning how to paint, and that’s what keeps me doing it."
Gabe Leonard's paintings take you into a world rich with inimitable atmosphere and narrative intrigue. His work captures rich moods by combining the free brushwork of an expressive artist combined with the lighting and framing of a seasoned Hollywood cinematographer. Drawn to rugged and romantic film noir characters, Leonard merges technically brilliant figurative painting with a finely crafted cinematic atmosphere, creating snapshot moments full of narrative possibilities.
Be sure to visit our store in person or online for more information and to purchase Gabe’s works.

Most of us believe in destiny, fate, or a journey that one day leads us to our soulmate. In this painting, the stars have aligned. Two mint leaves dance with each other, celebrating their love to the musical notes of the mojito band beside them.
What’s a Mojito? This delicious drink is a traditional Cuban highball. Traditionally, a recipe for a mojito consists of five ingredients: white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint. Its combination of sweetness, citrus, and herbaceous mint flavors is intended to complement the rum, and has made the mojito a popular summer drink. Yum!

Art by Fabio Napoleoni. Do you have all 3 in this collection?
What Fabio says about these pieces:
I could not think of a better character to fill the position of the joker. Mr. Bunny Boozehound is my party animal and wise cracking character who can often be found in odd situations sporting a cocktail…
What's a king without a queen? Painting this piece was much easier than deciding the proper title since each title I came up with had such a different meaning from the others. "Queen of Broken Hearts" appealed to me the most. The idea that we all know a woman who has mended damaged hearts and always cared for others more than herself. I created this piece to stand on it's own, but I'm sure it would pair up perfectly with the "King of Hearts".
