Fabio Napoleoni Art Guide: This guide is here to help art buyers understand the different types of editions and what makes each one special.
Open Editions: Open Editions (OE) are not numbered and have an unlimited edition size. Signed and titled by Fabio, typically 8x10 inches or similar in size.
Limited Editions: Whether on canvas or paper, there are three types of limited editions: SN, AP, PP. Limited Editions are produced in a fixed quantity; once an edition sells out, it is no longer available. Each is hand signed, titled, and numbered by Fabio and includes a certificate of authenticity.
SN “Signed and Numbered” Limited edition, signed and numbered by Fabio and includes a certificate of authenticity.
AP “Artist Proof” Limited edition, signed and numbered by Fabio and includes a certificate of authenticity. AP editions usually have smaller edition sizes than SN editions. Some APs are also printed slightly larger, often by a few inches. Each is hand embellished by Fabio.
Paper APs include a hand painted heart and/or remarque on the white border.
Canvas APs include clear textured gel on the front, and a hand drawn remarque on the back.
PP “Publisher Proof” Limited edition, signed and numbered by Fabio and includes a certificate of authenticity. Once the SN and AP editions sell out completely, this final edition may be released. Think of a PP edition as an encore edition, a very small final run, the last chance to own that image. Each PP includes added hand painted enhancements and embellishments, just like the AP, plus more:
Fabio works on every piece from top to bottom, adding unique details inside the artwork with additional color and detail. Each and every PP is different; no two are alike - each one truly feels like an original work of art. Due to the very small edition size, the extensive hand embellishments, and the fact that it is the final release of an image, PP editions are priced higher than earlier editions. Prices also typically increase as the PP edition becomes more limited and availability decreases.
