His mother, Edua, an artist herself, nurtured his early passion for drawing, while his father, Antonio, owned several nightclubs, including the renowned "Las Brujas." The vibrant and often melancholic scenes of nightlife he observed during his youth—elegant women, brooding men, and the smoky ambiance of bars—became recurring themes in his work. These early experiences instilled in him a fascination with capturing the emotional depth and sensuality of his subjects.

After the loss of both parents during his teenage years, Perez embarked on a journey of self-discovery, immersing himself in martial arts, particularly karate, which provided him with discipline and inner strength. His dedication led him to teach karate in various countries, including Italy and Japan. In Italy, he began to showcase his art in small exhibitions, gradually gaining recognition.

His time in Japan introduced him to Shodo, the art of Japanese calligraphy, which influenced his painting technique by blending figurative and abstract styles, emphasizing fluidity and expressive brushwork. Perez's artwork is characterized by its emotional intensity and romanticism, often depicting solitary figures in intimate settings.
